Andrew Winter is best known as host and residential property expert for the award-winning series Selling Houses Australia which is exclusive to The LifeStyle Channel. A Brit who now calls Australia home, he's described by the media as 'straight talking'. He cuts to the chase and says what everyone else avoids. He may now be known as a 'TV Property Guru' but he really is an expert in his field.
Andrew moved his wife and three daughters to Queensland where they established a boutique Real Estate Agency. They sold this to allow more time for the family and to focus on his growing media career. "It is my ultimate job, travelling all over seeing new people and their homes, discovering new areas, meeting their agents, what luck he says!
Now residing in Queensland's exclusive Sanctuary Cove he has also inevitably become an ambassador for this leading resort-style master planned community.
Andrew joins News Ltd as their real-estate expert and his articles will feature in national, regional and local newspapers and magazines including The Daily Telegraph in Sydney and The Herald Sun in Melbourne. Already an ASTRA award winner, Andrew and Selling Houses Australia won in all of the categories they were nominated in for the ASTRA Awards including Most Outstanding Lifestyle Program, Most Outstanding Performance by a Presenter, Favourite Program and Favourite Personality. Andrew Winter was hailed as the King of Pay TV.
His extensive real-estate experience and global market experience in the UK, Europe and Australia, has also made him highly sought after as a national speaker where he divulges his insights into the real estate industry and focuses on teaching consumers how to best market their property and how to find the best deal. Starting his career in real estate at the age of 17 he sold his first home within a matter of months. He worked with a Bristol based agency who gave him terrific house sales skills. The next few years were spent at a firm of Chartered Surveyors fine tuning his house selling skills, but combining it with inside knowledge of construction, structural issues, building faults and problems. Andrew then spent many years working in The Cotswolds selling country cottages, derelict barns, and never going anywhere without a pair of wellies in the boot!
Andrew has experienced all market conditions - good and bad, sold beautiful dream homes and houses even the local rat population would stay out of! All this is with equal passion, because houses are his passion. His expertise comes from believing that people are the main ingredient in the process of buying and selling properties; whether they're first time owners, seasoned house movers or investors big and small.
To further expand his career he made the move to Central London where he sold apartments and townhouses in the famous Baker Street / Oxford Street / Regents Park areas. For around 8 years Andrew was a partner in the exciting Canary Wharf area of London, involved with property investments, property management, sales and new developments - even furnishing homes for clients! He then spent a year as a Consultant for a newly created Estate Agency in Kent, overseeing business development, helping sellers get their homes sold and working with the staff and managers to build up their brand. His career then gained an added angle - he was chosen to present and research a new TV program about his favourite subject 'Selling Houses'. The UK program was in production for 6 years and the Australian version, Selling Houses Australia is now in its fourth year of production -XYZ Networks has recently completed filming the fourth series of Selling Houses Australia for broadcast on the LifeStyle channel. Andrew also appeared at The BBC Good Homes Show and House and Garden Show at Olympia in London.
