George (I'm so tuff) Smilovici

Cuban born Comedian, George Smilovici is the only comedian to Top the Australian and NZ music charts, and USA comedy charts with his hilarious hit monologue "I'M TUFF".

He has performed in every arena possible, from giant sporting stadiums to intimate clubs as Headliner and alongside the likes of Joe Cocker, Talking Heads, Midnight Oil, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Sedaka, U2, Pat Benatar, Joan Rivers, Michael Winslow..you name it, he's done it! His appeal is huge.

His two concert videos "Double Trouble" and "Hot" went number One on the Video Charts.

His passion for comedy has ironically provided him with a platform to confront social issues with hysterical abandon.
His prowess on the guitar and his unique take on Cuban/Flamenco/Jazz make him rather special as a comic.

George has written and starred in award winning TV and Radio commercials
E.g. Brut Faberge. He has also worked on Channle 9 sports, had his own Golf series on Fox Sports, "The G-files" an hysterical and supernatural take on Golf. His lecture given at the International Humour Conference on Political Correctness is a must read for any fan of comedy.

Smiovici has taken several shows to NZ, USA, Britain, New Guinea,  Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Hawaii.

He even performed for the coalition troops in Iraq where he spoke out against George Bush. You may have seen him interviewed about these Controversial shows on CNN or Today Tonight or read about it on the front page The Age.

Recently he's been on Fox Comedy Channel's "Stand up Australia" and has beenPerforming on Michael Jacobsen's  "One Night Stand".

He is about to RE launch his amazing One man show "My Father's Hands" . This theatrical production about his family's escape from  Castro's Cuban Revolution has more than wowed both critics and audiences alike and garnered great reviews.

In October of 2007 George was asked to perform alongside the who's who of Australia's Rock industry such as Renee Geyer, James Reyne, Doug Parkinson, Daryl Braithewaite and many more at Melbourne's Palais Theatre in the charity event of the year, The Concert For Max (Merritt). The 3 set DVD of that wonderful show is now on sale at J and B HI FI and Sanity stores

In January of 2008 George debuted his new one-man show "It's all good" in Los Angeles.  The LA times said, " The only time we weren't in brakeless fits of laughter was when he played his guitar!stunning."He then played at the St Kilda Laughs Festival he Legends of Australian in Melbourne. His recent appearance on The Footy Show absolutely brained them.  

This year has already begun with George recording a series of "20 to 1", for the Nine Network, which goes to air on Thursday the 12th of March. You can also catch him now on the Ovation Channel practically every day of the week. He is a regular guest on Mornings with Kerri-Anne on Ch 9.

Innogence

George Smilovici was a great hit at our dental prosthetists graduation dinner. His performance was tremendously enjoyable and his cheeky humour had our guests falling off their seats with laughter. To everyone's surprise George closed his act by playing a couple of Flamenco instrumentals on his guitar which were absolutely delightful. Many of the guests expressed how much they enjoyed George's act and how refreshing it was to have a comedian as the guest speaker. I have no hesitation in recommending George to other organisations. George's performance certainly made our evening a success!
