Mo Award Winner for Comedy Performer of 1994
Five times winner of the prestigious Mo Award for the best female Comedienne, Geraldine Doyle, has been telling stories for most of her life - and started doing it professionally in 1975 when Bill Wallace, of The Midday Show overheard her talking at a private party. He invited her to appear on Mike Walsh's top rating national television program and the rest as they say is history.

Geraldine was a regular on the Midday Show for 13 years. She's on my guaranteed "hit list" says Ray Martin who claimed that his show "ate up comedians for lunch... and spat them out".

An accomplished writer, scripting all her own material, her first book "You Wouldn't Read About It", based on her "on the road" experiences demonstrates Dublin-born Geraldine's love for her adopted land and the "indomitable spirit of its modern pioneers and their ability to thumb their nose in the face of disaster".

"Comedy is truth exaggerated" says Geraldine. "It's like holding a funhouse mirror up to life. It's a powerful tool, and can change peoples perception. I don't believe in using it irresponsibly. My stuff is all based on my own experience".

Over the past few years Geraldine has toured overseas extensively, performing in Ireland and the United States of America; made a 24 episode series for Canadian television; been the subject of the acclaimed ABC television program "A Big Country" and made an album called "Stand On Your Man".
