A multi-talented performer and writer, Jean Kittson is one of Australia's best known and most popular comedians, amusing audiences in theatre, radio and television.
On television Jean was recently in Channel 9's Flat Chat, has been a regular guest on Good News Week and is well known for her lively comedy debates in The Great Debate Series. She has argued that The Aussie Bloke Is A Hopeless Joke, That Beauty Is Better Than Brains, That Middle Age Is Sexy and That Australia is Not the Arts End Of The World.

Jean made her comedy debut at the infamous comedy venue Le Joke in Melbourne in the stage show Let The Blood Run Free, which later became a television series for Network 10 and then onsold to Britain's Channel Four and several other European television networks.

Jean earned national fame through ABC TV's The Big Gig. There she became a comic chameleon, changing into characters as differing as Veronica Glenhuntley, newsreader, and Candida, new-age aerobics instructor. Following this success, Jean teamed up with Maryanne Fahey to become the first female comedians to have their own show on Australian TV, Kittson Fahey.

In 1990 Jean made her major stage debut in the David Williamson play Siren and in 1995 she wrote and performed her own one woman play Escape. She has also performed in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne.

On radio Jean has been a presenter with two of Sydney's highest rating breakfast programmes: 2DAY FM and MIX 106.5.

Jean has amused audiences in print with regular columns in New Weekly magazine and the Sunday Telegraph Magazine. She has appeared in a number of television commercials and in 1998 published a collection of humorous observations, Tongue Lashing that has become a Penguin best seller.

Jean has appeared in ABC's Media Dimensions and shot a cameo role in Bill Bennett's feature film Nugget.
