Julie Anthony (OBE) holds a unique place in the heart of the Australian Entertainment Industry. Her achievements on the concert stage, in musicals, television and recordings, span nearly two decades. Julie Anthony, a professional and dedicated performer has been the recipient of numerous awards.
It all began when Julie moved to Sydney from the South Australian Mallee Country in the early seventies. The club, cabaret and television works was vibrant then; Julie found herself in great demand. It wasn't so long after that she was asked to audition for a J.C Williamson stage production, "Irene" - and though still virtually unknown - won the coveted lead role.

Julie was then invited to play the same role on London's West End Stage. "A Star is Born" wrote the British Press critics and Julie won the prestigious Play and Players Award as Best Newcomer Actress. She worked for the Channel Seven Network for three national television specials which earned her Sammy and Penguin Awards for Best Television Variety Performer. The accolades continued. Mo Awards for Entertainer Of The Year (three times), Best Female Vocalist (eight times) presented by her peers in Variety.

The United States of America beckoned and Julie performed successful seasons with such great stars as Bill Cosby, Roy Clarke and Merv Griffin in major venues across the States. The musical stage called her back this time to play the lead role of "Maria" in "The Sound Of Music". Then followed by a record breaking concert tour around all regions of Australia.

In more recent years, Julie has helped establish Advance Australia Fair as our National Anthem. Her recording has become "the definitive version" and during our Bicentennial year was given the honour of singing the Anthem at the official opening of Australia's new Parliament House. Julie was also selected to sing the Anthem at the Sydney Olympic Games.

Julie was awarded an OBE for her service to the Entertainment Industry. She was honoured to receive the award by Her Majesty the Queen. Julie also received the prestigious honour of the Order of Australia for her contribution to the people of Australia. She is a nationally and internationally recognised performer and has won a record 15 Mo Awards.
