Passionate, committed, dedicated, inspiring, hungry are all words that could be used to describe Katherine Sampson founder of Healthy Habits. Katherine had a vision and made it reality and shared the business opportunity with other like minded people. She is the epitome of what you can do when you have a dream and dedication. A woman who aspired to be a stay-at-home mum with two children under three, Katherine opened Australia's first national sandwich bar brand, Healthy Habits, which BRW recognised as one of the fastest growing franchise operations in the country.

Katherine left school at 16 years of age and worked full time in the legal industry as a paralegal. She married at 19, had two children and started her own children's accessories business at 25. Realising the potential of the healthy fast food movement Katherine purchased her first sandwich bar at 27 and had opened four Healthy Habits stores by the time she was 35.

After 12 years of owning her own sandwich bars, she realised the concept had the potential to work for others, so Katherine decided it was time to take Healthy Habits to the next level. With all this experience and passion, her decision to franchise the business model came more as a natural progression than a difficult hurdle. Katherine had a very clear vision of what she wanted to create and identified a strong opportunity in the Australian Retail Health Food market.

Katherine won the My Business Magazine overall Excellence Award and was a finalist in the Veuve Clicquot  International Women's Awards.  She has also been a finalist for the Telstra Business Women's Awards several times.  Katherine is also a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
