Michael Malthouse is truly a living legend of the sports arena.
Since 1972, the football stadium has seen him wear the guernsey of St Kilda, Richmond, Footscray and the West Cost Eagles Football Clubs over the years, and over that time he has clocked up an amazing total of over 400 games - 135 of which were played during his time with Footscray in 1984-1989.
With this sort of experience it is no wonder Mick helped take the West Coast Eagles to both the 1992 and 1994 AFL Premierships and 1991 Grand Final!
In his early career, Mike was a member of Richmond's 1980 Premiership team and also, in 1983, part of their Grand Final Foster's Cup team.
Since 1985, Mike has contributed to the games success from the sidelines. He has subsequently been awarded the titles "Players Association Coach of the Year", "Inaugural AFL Coach of the Year", "WA Institute of Sport Coach of the Year", and "'Inside Sport' Australian Coach of the Year". He is currently senior coach for the West Coast Eagles.
Mick has a wealth of 'behind the scenes' stories, from the locker rooms to the playing field and can captivate any audience with his knowledge of the game.
