At a conference in Mexico with a title that seemed almost surreal, Business & Spirituality, one of the conference speakers was Michael Rennie, a Managing Partner at McKinsey & Company Australia, who told the story of his amazing personal journey, his visionary work that would help transform his firm, their clients and business.

Michael's talk illuminated his journey from terminal cancer patient through his chance meeting with a healer who would help him reconnect his head and heart, his miraculous conscious healing process and the development of a curriculum his firm is today delivering to clients around the world with outstanding results. McKinsey is known for their 3000+ high-powered clients and their strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities. Michael's little known story helps illuminate another aspect of their work and offers insights into the difference one person can make in a 10,000 person organization and in helping business become a more balanced discipline.

Michael has held a number of senior roles at McKinsey including being the global leader, based out of New York, of McKinsey's Organisation Behaviour practice which specialises in organisational leadership, performance culture improvement and behavioural change. His distinctiveness comes from the combination of his experience in traditional business consulting and his own personal transformational journey that saw him overcome a life threatening cancer in his mid 30's.

The result is a unique ability to bring together the 'hard' business reality and 'soft' human factors, creating the space for teams and individuals to challenge themselves at deep levels and grow. He has personally led successful company wide performance culture transformations at 12 of McKinsey's most successful global clients, in the US and Canada, Brazil & Mexico, China, South Africa, Europe and Australia.

In addition he has been a key advisor to 30 other clients globally. Prior to joining McKinsey, Michael was a lawyer with Freehills, studied languages and history in Switzerland and law and economics in Australia. He has an MA in economics and philosophy from Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes
