Ever since he led the daring, first Australian climb of Mount Everest in 1984, Australia's most well known mountaineer has been enthralling audiences around the world.
He has a passion for communicating the mountaineering experience and the outdoor life, not only because it's something he loves but because climbing is such a good metaphor for living life to its fullest. Thousands, from school children to the chief executives of large corporations, have been inspired by Tim's spectacular audio-visual presentations.

Tim was born in 1956 in the Southern highlands of Tanganyika and was educated at Geelong Grammar School and the Australian National University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and majoring in Biology.

Behind Tim's interest in climbing lies a passion for the world of nature. He believes that having been born of nature we human beings now hold the responsibility for its future growth in our hands or more precisely, our minds.

Tim is an expert in survival, a partner in a successful clothing business and is Chairman and co-founder of The Nepal Eye Program in Australia, an organisation which promotes and raises money for economic development in Nepal.
