Future Crunch is a group of scientists, artists, technologists and entrepreneurs who believe that science and technology are creating a world that is more peaceful, connected and abundant. Our mission is to paint a better picture of the future, and to empower people to contribute to a world that works for everyone. If we want to change the story of the human race in the 21st century, we have to change the stories we tell ourselves.

At the core of every Future Crunch experience is an exploration of what is happening on the frontiers of science and technology. We pride ourselves on ensuring the stories we tell are based on things that are happening in the present. We curate compelling experiences that show audiences that progress is not only possible, but that it’s happening right now.

Future Crunch specialises in dynamic, visually spectacular live or virtual keynote presentations, and transformative, engaging workshops. These can be booked as individual keynotes and workshops, or paired with complementary topics from our range of products in order to infuse your entire conference program with a dose of optimistic intelligence.

Speaking topics

AQ - The Adaptability Quotient - The most important skill for the 21st century.

In today's business environment, the ability to deal with the unexpected has become a crucial issue, because the unexpected has become the new normal. A coronavirus, a tiny bundle of protein 10,000 times smaller than a grain of salt, has turned the world upside down, and almost nobody saw it coming. We can never predict the major events in our lives, the ones where we really need to hit the deck - and the same is true in business – it's impossible to predict the future. Today's leaders need to be asking themselves: what sort of talents do we need to nurture, and which ones are no longer fit for purpose?

How do we account not just for the known unknowns, but the unknown unknowns too? Drawing on the latest insights from the worlds of technology, neuroscience and management, this keynote explores the concept of the Adaptability Quotient: the ability to thrive in unpredictable environments. Instead of being really good at doing one thing, adaptive people and organisations are really good at learning how to do new things.

Participants will learn what it takes to foster AQ, how to identify it in others, and how it can be a superpower for anyone looking to maintain an advantage in a complex and unpredictable world.

The Next Economy - A rollercoaster tour across the frontiers of technological disruption.

Technology used to be thought of as a function to be outsourced, or a sector on its own. Today, it’s a layer across all aspects of the economy.
Connectivity, digital disruption, machine learning and artificial intelligence, intuitive computing, automation, additive manufacturing, decarbonisation, regeneration, gene-editing, synthetic biology, brain-machine interfacing. Each of these technological trends are transformative in their own right. Together, they’re a roaring tornado creating once in a hundred-year revolutions in every industry at once.
Understanding what's on the horizon is essential for any organisation wishing to harness the opportunities of a rapidly changing global economy in the 21st century. Audiences will come away from this talk with the ability to think clearly and critically about technological disruption, a skill that's particularly relevant for leaders who wish to maintain a strategic advantage — and protect their organisations against competitors looking to do the same.

The Robot Rule Of Thumb - The future of work, and how to prepare yourself for it

Advancements in technology have provided a catalyst to redefine the needs of people in the workplace, and as a result, we see a move towards more flexibility and a greater desire for meaning and purpose in the next economy. While these changes present challenges, they also offer an opportunity for the workforce of the future to find a sense of renewed freedom.
In this presentation, Future Crunch explores the changing world of work, and how technological disruption is redefining the skills that matter. The machines aren’t here to take our jobs - but they will change them. And that means that counter-intuitively, it’s the human skills that really count. Audiences will walk away with a better understanding of how to start building a workplace that is prepared for automation, disruption and changing work patterns. Essential insights for any organisation searching to drive innovative ways of working in the 21st century.

Testimonials

In planning for our 2020 event, we asked ourselves if we could deliver the tried and trusted conference format online - and with the same impact. Future Crunch communicated big ideas in succinct and practical nuggets which inspired our audience. The dynamic duo of Tane and Lilian were spirited and energetic, firing on all cylinders in a well-planned virtual workshop with the right amount of detail and a clear subject matter. This was our first fully virtual event attempted and was an enormous success due to their ability to adapt and accommodate our needs in delivering online to live audience members with a good level of interaction.

Our 2020 online event was a stellar success and one which has sent internal tongues wagging about the quality of the product and received rave reviews from the customers and partners in attendance. This result was in no small part, down to the stellar work Future Crunch provided in their virtual keynote. We all sat and watched in awe as comment after comment sailed by in the keynote chat window, as our customers and partners were touched and took great value from their message.

We were delighted to work with them. The insight and performance were one thing – the humanity and honesty of approach was another thing entirely. The way in which they co-developed our vision and brought it to life, was not merely another small step for our organisation in achieving its goals of driving human innovation, rather, they distilled and brought to life the positivity and hope we have in enabling our customers to create a better world. Thank you. We are delighted with the final outcome.

Future Crunch... Where do I even start? Absolutely inspiring, incredibly interesting and just overall outstanding. They brought a level of joy to the stage I haven't ever seen before, and even in a smaller space, with a highly diverse audience, they managed to adapt their content to resonate with each and every person. They ensured our 2020 event was a huge success, and their mixture of learning, personal stories, and a genuine enthusiasm to be on the stage made for a wonderful presentation. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I would like to convey my sincerest appreciation to Future Crunch for their outstanding efforts in presenting the two hour session on innovation at the 87th INTERPOL General Assembly in Dubai. Our colleagues highly valued their inspirational spirit and strong commitment, and it was a great pleasure to follow their exploration of connectivity, artificial intelligence, new machines, digital transformation and forensics. They provided mind-provoking insights into future opportunities and challenges for law enforcement as well as effective police innovation. Their dedicated support during the preparation process and their close collaboration with our Innovation Centre was deeply appreciated.

Thank you so much to Future Crunch for opening the Main Platform at the Million Dollar Round Table Annual Meeting. They helped make the event a productive, memorable, and meaningful experience. We greatly appreciate all the hard work and preparation that went into creating a wonderful presentation, which really enhanced our program and truly resonated with our members.

I first saw Future Crunch a few years ago at a conference, and knew straight away that I wanted to engage them one day. We finally had the opportunity with the SingularityU Australia Summit 2019. In our initial discussions, we asked them to do a live recap of the first day, and it was a vision I wasn't sure would achieve what I wanted it to. They pulled it off brilliantly and added their own content into the mix. It was a remarkable performance, and the feedback we have had reflects this.
Christina Gerakiteys | Co-CEO, SingularityU Australia

Future Crunch were outstanding. They provided a thought-provoking and thoroughly engaging account of the real world we live in – a world full of hope and positivity. Not an easy job, to keep a room of senior corporate executives on their toes, but they did. It was provocative and showed us a brilliant display of optimism at its finest.
