UK-born Gary Mehigan is the owner of award-winning establishments, Fenix and Maribyrnong Boathouse, among some of the finest dining experiences in Melbourne. Having received training in world class restaurants Gary's credentials command attention.

Gary completed his apprenticeship in London, going on to work in The Connaught Hotel, and Le Souffle Restaurant in London in his early years. Being based in Melbourne since 1991, he has headed the kitchen in some of the city's most prominent restaurants, including Browns, Burnham Beeches Country House and Hotel Sofitel before opening the award-winning Fenix in 2000.

Gary was recently a Judge for Channel Ten's massively popular Masterchef series in 2009 and has returned to his regular Cooking role on Channel Ten's '9am with David & Kim'. Gary also co-hosts two show's on Australia's Lifestyle Food Channel, Good Chef, Bad Chef, and Boy's Weekend.

Gary Mehigan is continually in demand as a guest chef and consultant, famously for his clean, fresh cooking style, as well as his finally honed business skills and salesmanship. Expect to see his face on Australian TV for some time to come!
