For almost 10 years John Maguire was Managing Director of Driza-Bone Pty Ltd, manufacturer and wholesaler of clothing. During this time, John led the company to increase its annual turnover from $5 million to $17 million. This increase was mainly in the export field with over 30 countries being supplied with product from Australia. At the same time Driza-Bone became one of Australia's leading brands and was the first Australian company to implement the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement within the Clothing Industry (1993).  The company has also had considerable success in providing over 8,000 garments for the Sydney 2000 Olympic.

Because of his background John Maguire is often asked to speak on topics such as Industrial Relations, Exporting, Manufacturing and Marketing.
