After completing her Bachelor of Computer Science, Melissa worked for Mobil Oil, Alcoa, GE Capital and The University of Melbourne before branching out to start her own internet marketing consultancy.  Melissa has been operating her consultancy business for fourteen years. She specialises in building search engine friendly websites and marketing savvy email newsletters that connect businesses with more customers online. Her book "Starting an Online Business for Dummies" is a one-stop guide to setting up and promoting an online business in simple, easy to understand language.

In the past ten years she has presented throughout Australia and in Toronto, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Hong Kong and Hawaii.
