Michael Furey has worked in the financial services industry for more than twenty years and is the former Head of Research for Suncorp's advisory businesses where he oversaw the management of around $4billion across numerous asset classes and strategies including shares, bonds, property, and hedge funds. He is a regular presenter at conferences covering issues of the local and global economy and its investment market implications. He currently provides investment research and advisory services to the financial advice industry and you can check out his thoughts on all things economics and investing at his popular blog.  He is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, Certified Financial Planner, has a Masters Degree in Applied Finance, Bachelor of Mathematics(majoring in statistics), other postgraduate qualifications and a surprisingly a pretty good personality.
