Nick Rheinberger

Nick Rheinberger is one of Australia's most versatile creative people. He's an entertainer for both children and adults, singing and playing guitar at schools, concerts, and corporate functions. He's also a writer, a voiceover, a university lecturer and a freelance creative ideas person.
Nick has been entertaining crowds since an early age, on stage with his parents in dozens of musicals. He went on to form "The Pickled Herrings", a barbershop/doo-wop/country/slapdancing comedy act who toured Australia, and performed acclaimed seasons at venues such as The Last Laugh and Wrest Point Casino. "The Pickled Herrings" also honed their skills in front of dozens of corporate audiences, including News Corp, The Public Service Association and the Canberra Raiders.

"The Pickled Herrings" eventually became "Three Men in a Tub" who played several seasons of shows for children at the Albert Hall, Canberra. Nick still regularly plays for children, and writes children's tv series.

Nick is now a solo act, playing his unique brand of "Acoustic Cabaret" in live venues around Australia. Recent gigs have also included a successful evening at The Troubadour in London.

As a corporate performer, Nick's shows are full of music, stories, custom-written jokes, and audience participation. He's gone on an Australian tour with the Peters Ice Cream sales team, told jokes in front of the Reverend Gordon Moyes, raised money for Diabetes Australia, and put Mal Meninga in a grass skirt and blond wig.

As a comedy writer, Nick has worked full-time for shows such as "Good News Week", "BackBerner" and "Life Support". He spent many years writing comedy for radio stations such as FOX Melbourne, Triple M Sydney, and FM104.7 Canberra. He had his own breakfast show at K-Rock Geelong, before being poached by 96fm in Perth to host breakfast there. He's since written for Club Veg and Andrew Denton on radio, and wrote, produced and voiced his own series, "Short Stories from Long Summers", on the ABC.
