Patria is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and has been on the Reserve Bank of Australia's Small Business Finance Advisory Panel since 1997. She is also the 2000 Australian AusIndustry Private Sector Award Winner and 2000 Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year.

Dôme Coffees Australia Pty Ltd was established in 1990 with the firm objective to import and roast only the finest coffees from around the world. Dôme created a range of distinctive, individually styled coffees based on the traditional craft skills of hand roasting and blending. The company quickly found there was a burgeoning demand for its product from consumers who were in search of fresher, more flavourful alternatives to pre-packaged commercial blends.

Dôme's success grew from its reputation for providing an outstanding range of fine coffees presented in stylish, high-quality packaging. It became necessary to develop the means to showcase the product, which brought about the original Dôme Café concept. Dôme is now a wholesale supplier to over 250 outlets across Australia and has franchise operations spanning five countries including South-East Asia and the Middle East.

In less than ten years the company has grown from a small, specialist coffee roaster to a multi-million dollar, international importer, exporter, franchiser, retailer and restaurateur. However, all these activities support Dôme's fundamental focus on the coffee business as it has never lost sight of its founding principles forged when only a small, specialist producer.
